Andreas Trobollowitsch

Andreas Trobollowitsch is a Vienna-based electroacoustic musician, composer and sound artist. He studied musicology and jazz theory in Vienna and Paris, and wrote his thesis about the spatial approach in the compositions of Stockhausen and Cage. Trobollowitsch works extensively in the fields of electroacoustic composition and improvisation, and has composed for dance, theatre, film and radio. In his works, he mainly uses modified fans, guitars, tapes and field recordings. Recently he has been focusing primarily on conceptual compositions, sound installations and self-developed musical instruments. He has released CDs and DVDs on schraum, Monotype, Filmarchiv Austria, cronica records, and has been awarded the State Scholarship for Composition, the Start Stipendium for music and performing arts, as well as numerous commissions and grants. He is one of the SHAPE artists performing at Novas Frequencias in Rio de Janeiro.

Annette Krebs – Tape Music

Another Timbre – The Berlin Series no.2″(UK).

Liz Allbee – Tape Music

Liz Allbee is a composer, improviser and performer who works with the imaginarchic potential of sonic material. Recurring themes in her work include embodiments & extensions – relationships between human players, musical instruments, everyday sound objects, and high & low technologies – as well as basic instrument building and strategies for DIY spatialization. She is fascinated by the guttural, proto-linguistic qualities of musical voices. She performs often with her trumpet, quad-trumpet, voice, and electronics. She has performed at Maerzmusik, Darmstadt, CTM, Huddersfield, Donaueschingen, Ostrava Days, Serralves, Bolzano Museum of Fine Art, Berlin JazzFest, Wien Modern, and Berghain, among others.

Many lesser oddball talents make the proud boast that they will invite you into their strange mental world and amaze you thereby. Allbee not only makes good on the promise, but she refuses to let you out again afterwards. I hereby dub her the Circe of the avant-garde music world, and I have now been turned into a pig.”

Sir Tralala

Ankathie Koi in Private Duo

„In Trout We Dust“ – Film von Dieter Kovačic

The International Nothing

The International Nothing is a Berlin-based psycho-acoustic clarinet duo formed by Michael Thieke and Kai Fagaschinski in 2000. They collectively compose multilayered sound sculptures using multiphonics, beat frequencies and difference tones as an integral part of their language. Both musicians are well known as improvisers but in this project they develop and perform exclusively their own delicate compositions.
Every four years the duo releases an album on the Japanese Ftarri Label. In 2018 they are presenting their fourth duo album In Doubt We Trust. While each of the previous releases consisted of several shorter pieces the duo is now going epic for the first time. The new album is made of a single work of 37 plus minutes. 2 1⁄2 years of deep sonic research in seclusion not only yielded a formal change, but also revealed new and yet unheard acoustic scenarios in slow pace and of fragile beauty.
The duo played concerts all over Europe, North and South America and East Asia, including Donaueschinger Musiktage (2007), Konfrontationen (Nickelsdorf 2008 & 2019), Experimental Intermedia (New York 2009), Maerzmusik (Berlin 2009), Serrales em Festo (Porto 2010), Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik (Darmstadt 2012), Météo Festival (Mulhouse 2012), Festival International de Musique Actuelle De Victoriaville (2015), Music Unlimited (Wels 2015), Ftarri Festival (Tokyo 2015 & 2019), Borderline Festival (Athens 2017), and Novas Frequencias (Rio de Janeiro 2018).

Bernhard Rasinger

Bernhard Rasinger will present his performance system, which combines a modular synthesizer and state of the art laser technology. He will go into depth about his performance principles such as the duality of things and schizophonia. The technical corner points of this talk are the beauty of resonant multimode filter circuits, chopping up circles with comparators and the secret power of amplitude modulation. This talk is based around a modular eurorack synthesizer.

About / Bernhard Rasinger

He performs on a system that combines a modular synthesizer and state of the art laser technology to create a lucidly hypnotic audiovisual experience. (BR-Laser, Tearing light from sound, LaserBros.) Bernhard Rasinger is engineer, visual sound artist and cofounder of the art association NewJörg Vienna. He is a regular guest at international experimental music festivals, music fairs and soldering workshops. Dog Dimension

Sticky, sweaty, melting: „Endless Summer“ immediately transports you to the hottest day of the year. The third EP of Berlin-based band Dog Dimension navigates through a world of dystopian pool parties and throbbing stretches of asphalt, captured on five slick songs that maneuver between experimental rock, grunge and alt-metal on a classic guitar-bass-drums setup: While „Sticky People“ is lush with tribal rhythms and hypnotic vocals, „Scrunchy Face“ rattles through your ears like a speeding e-scooter on cobblestones. A cool-headed verse and a slow-mosh chorus exchange an affirmative nod on the title track „Endless Summer“ – the doom-disco bridge lurks patiently behind the next cowbell. The power trio sprinkles „Doggernaut“ with the occasional blast beat, while „Drop Shadow by the Pool“ gently grazes avant-rock territory. A record that is, simply put, fun – or to quote the band’s singer: „My brain is hanging on a thread / It’s summer and I’m happy / I don’t want it to end“.

Berlin-based power trio Dog Dimension started playing together in 2019. Since then they have been blasting away at a mix of experimental rock, grunge and alt-metal on their classic guitar-bass-drums setup.

Josefine Lukschy – bass, vocals
Alexander Meurer – guitar
Immo Philipp Hofmann – drums
